Your care can begin before you travel

Receiving medical treatment in another country requires coordination. For this reason, the first step is to understand your diagnosis and review the available medical information.

1. Share your case

Contact the office and indicate that you are an international patient. You can provide information about your diagnosis, symptoms, previous treatments, and tests performed.

2. Specialized evaluation

Your case will be evaluated to determine the next steps and whether you require additional studies, a specialist consultation, or consideration for a surgical procedure.

3. Planning your care in Costa Rica

When your case requires in-person care, medical guidance will be provided to help coordinate the consultation, procedure, and appropriate recovery period.

4. Follow-up

After treatment, follow-up is determined according to each patient's diagnosis and progress, helping ensure continuity of care when you return to your country.

What information should you have on hand?

To facilitate the evaluation of your case, it is recommended that you have the medical studies related to your diagnosis available.

Depending on the condition, the following may be helpful:

  • MRI scans or CT scans
  • Medical and radiology reports
  • Laboratory results
  • History of previous treatments
  • Information about previous surgeries
  • List of current medications

Not all patients require the same studies. Specific requirements are determined on a case-by-case basis.
